Crafting is the backbone of the Roblox 99 Nights in the Forest game. Your ability to craft is the only thing that stands between you and the darkness. This guide covers everything about 99 Nights Crafting. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, this guide will highlight all important aspects of crafting, because real survival happens at the Crafting Bench.
How Crafting Works?
A grinder is placed in the campfire area. This machine requires wood and scraps to craft items. Cultist Gem, Forest Gem, etc are some exclusive items that are required to unlock the higher tier of the crafting bench. Many beginners make a common mistake of putting everything in the crafting bench. A basic calculation can amplify your crafting needs. For example, if you see 3 Bolts to craft a Map in 99 Nights in the Forest. Here, 3 Bolts means 5 Craps. Below is a simple chart that can help you to understand the amount of scraps required to craft low to legendary-level items.
| 🔩 1 Bolt | 1 Scrap |
| 🔩 2 Bolt | 3 Scrap |
| 🔩 3 Bolt | 5 Scrap |
| 🔩 4 Bolt | 8 Scrap |
| 🔩 5 Bolt | 13 Scrap |
- Wooden Chairs: Do not burn them! Grind them for 5 Wood each.
- Metal Chairs: Grind them for 5 Scrap each.
Never burn Wooden Chairs in the Campfire. They can give you 5 Woods each, which can save a lot of time during crafting. Put them in the grinder to increase your wood count. Do the same for metal chairs.
Crafting Tier
Below is every crafting tier and the items you can craft in Roblox 99 Nights in the Forest. You can also refer to our Day 1 to Day 99 Beginners Guide to have a general idea about the game mechanism.
What to Craft First? – Pro Tips
The requirement of items changes as you progress from Day 1 to Day 99. Weather changes will also affect the lifeline of the campfire. It is necessary to know what to craft first. This saves time and boosts your defense. Below are important items divided on the basis of the days you must craft with priority.
🛠️ Priority Crafting Schedule
| Phase | Item & Cost | Strategic Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 |
1. Map 🪵 3 Woods (Tier 1) |
Unlocks ‘M’ key. Essential to find cabins/scrap without getting lost. |
| Day 1 |
2. Crafting Bench 2 🪵 5 Woods + 🔩 1 Scrap |
Mandatory. Unlocks Walls and Farms. You need this before Night 2. |
| Day 2 |
3. Log Wall 🪵 12 Woods (Tier 2) |
Place 3-4 around your fire. Cultists start attacking soon; you need physical cover. |
| Day 3 |
4. Farm Plot 🪵 10 Woods (Tier 2) |
Plant seeds ASAP. You need the harvest for the Biofuel Processor later. |
| Day 4-6 |
5. Biofuel Processor 🪵 12 Woods + 🔩 12 Scraps |
Infinite Fuel. Converts crops into long-lasting fuel. Stop burning wood! |
| Day 7 |
6. Lightning Rod 🔩 8 Scraps (Tier 3) |
Protects from lightning. Secret: Standing on it may keep you safe from mobs. |
| Day 10+ |
7. Oil Drill 🪵 25 Wood + 🔩 35 Scrap + 💎 1 Gem |
AFK Mode. Drills oil barrels every 8 mins. Place facing the fire to auto-feed it. |
| End Game |
8. Temporal Accelerometer 🪵 40 Wood + 🔩 40 Scrap + 💎 1 Gem |
Skips the entire night instantly. Far better than the Weather Machine. |

Day Wise Plan
The Wood Rush (Day 1-2)
- Priority: Wood 🪵.
- Goal: You need exactly 33 Wood to survive the start.
- What to Craft: Map (3🪵), Crafting Bench 2 (5🪵), Bunny Trap (5🪵), Old Bed (20🪵 or 12🪵 for Walls).
Ignore the scrap until you have your Good Axe and a Map. Unlocking the map early will help you to see chest locations on the map. You can also run back to the campfire if you are lost in the forest. Crafting Bench 2 allows you to craft storage and defense items. While Old Bed will increase your Day Passed counter by +1.
The Scrap Spike (Day 3-9)
- Priority: Scrap 🔩.
- Goal: You need massive amounts of scrap to unlock Tier 3 and 4.
- What to Craft: Farm Plot (10🪵), Crock Pot (15🪵 + 10🔩), Biofuel Processor (12🔩) & Ammo Crate (35🔩).
Start looting cabins aggressively on Day 3. Bring items with high bolt counts (fans, electronics) to the Grinder. Build 3-4 farm plots and grow carrots and other veggies. Then place a Crock Pot on it to get Stew. Always carry a few Stew with you while exploring, it can restore your Health and Stamina significantly. A Biofuel can now play the important role of keeping the fire alive. You don’t have to spend time cutthing woods. You can put veggies and meat in the biofuel to get a stable fuel supply.
The Gem Bottleneck (Day 10+)
- Priority: Cultist Gems 💎.
- Goal: Endgame items are locked behind Gems.
- What to Craft: Oil Drill (25🪵+ 35🔩+1💎), Ammo Craft (20🪵+ 30🔩+1💎) and Temporal Accelerometer (40🪵+ 40🔩+1💎)
Gems are rare. Never waste a gem on a “Weather Machine” until you have your Oil Drill. As you progress, you will need an Oil Drill. This will automate fuel production, and you no longer need to feed anything to the biofuel or to the campfire. Feed scrap and Ammo Crate will drop bullets.
Look for the white circle with a number inside. It is visible on the item. This means the item can work for a specific time only. For example, if you say 15 number then it means the item can craft only 15 items, and it will stop working. Once it hits 0, you cannot use it.
The Anvil
Other than the crafting bench, there is a Anvil in 99 in the Forest game. This special item spawns on the map and has a requirement. It can give you access to high-tier weapons. You will have to find a central anvil piece and assemble it to use it.
You can craft a Hammer here, which can be used to repair weapons. You can also craft Bandages and Chainsaw at the Anvil.
Critical Crafting Mechanics (The “Must-Knows”)
Winning in 99 Nights is about grabbing the right resource at the right time:
- 4x Food Efficiency: Never eat raw carrots; place them inside a Bunny Trap to yield 4 morsels instead of 1, instantly solving early-game hunger.
- God Mode Exploit: If you are overwhelmed, jump on top of a Lightning Rod; the description hints that standing on it makes you “safe forever” likely breaking enemy pathfinding.
- Night Skipping > Rain Stopping: Do not waste your first Gem on a Weather Machine; the Temporal Accelerometer costs the same but allows you to skip “Blood Moon” nights entirely, which is far more valuable.
- Fuel Automation: Place your Oil Drills facing directly into the Campfire; they produce one barrel every 8 minutes (roughly one night cycle), auto-feeding the fire so you never have to refuel manually.
- Prevent Sickness: Store all food in a Freezer (Tier 2) as soon as possible; food stored in regular chests or on the ground is considered “dirty” and provides less health/hunger restoration.
- The “Fibonacci” Scrap Rule: Prioritize carrying items with 4 bolts back to the grinder; scrap yields increase exponentially (1 bolt = 1 scrap, but 4 bolts = 8 scrap), making complex junk 8x more efficient to carry.
- Anvil is Mandatory: Locate the stone castle structure to find the Anvil; you cannot craft Bandages (essential healing) or the Hammer (essential repairs) at a normal Crafting Bench.
