99 Nights In the Forest Campfire Guide

The Campfire is not just a light source; it is your lifeline. If it dies, the fog moves in, your map vanishes, and The Deer attacks. Keep it lit to clear the fog and unlock new map areas. The campfire constantly depletes, and you have to keep it lit by adding wood, coal, and fuel. A fully upgraded campfire can protect you from rain, blizzards, cold, etc. With no campfire, there is no safe zone in the game, and you cannot cook either.

πŸ”° Safe Zone

Scares away The Deer and other entities.

Warning: Does not stop high-level Raids.

❀️ Regeneration

Heals you automatically over time.

Tip: Stand closer to the fire to heal faster.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Map Uplink

Powers your Map and recharges Flashlights.

If fire dies = Map Disables.

Burn Time Calculator ✍️

Enter the amount of logs, fuel, or coal you have. And see how much time you have to refuel the campfire.

  • Fuel Efficiency Tip: Coal burns 4x longer than Wood. Always save Coal for Night or Rain events. Do not waste Coal during the day.
  • Multiplayer Scaling: The cost of upgrading increases based on how many players are in the server. The numbers listed above are for Solo/Duo play. Expect +50% costs for Squads.

Pro Tips:

Here are some essential pro tips for playing 99 Nights in the Forest. These tips will help you to survive longer and complete tasks with less effort.

πŸ”₯ Campfire & Fuel Management

  1. Stop Burning Logs: Once you unlock Campfire Level 4, stop burning the logs. Logs provide less than 1% fuel. Use them for crafting.
  2. Biofuel: It is the most reliable source of fuel. Build 10 Farm Plots and place a Biofuel processor near them. You can turn your harvested veggies into biofuel and create an infinite fuel loop. No more wood cutting needed.
  3. Oil Drill: After unlocking Campfire Level 6, Oil Drill is compulsory. Place it in a way that it faces fire, so that it can auto-feed the Oil Barrels to the campfire.
  4. Campfire Healing trick: When you are low on health, stand closest to the campfire, and your health will regenerate faster.

If the fire goes out, the Deer will spawn immediately and start attacking you. It is necessary to maintain continous fuel supply to the campfire.

πŸ›‘οΈ Base Defense & AFK Strategies

  1. Rain Storage: Build 2 rain storage as early as possible. You can place them facing each other, so in case the fire goes out, you can hide inside the storage to avoid attacks. You will hammer to break your way out.
  2. Hide in Heights: If the fire goes out, then try to hide inside the Watchtower or on the second floor of Culstist Stronghold. The Deer cannot hunt you there.
  3. Safe Zone: Hostile mobs will stop at the edge of compfire light. But Cultists will enter, and the fire cannot stop them.

When you are chased by hostile mobs, animals, etc do not shoot them once you return to the camp. The mobs will stand at the edge of the camp, as they avoid light. But if you attack them, they will enter and chase you.

βš”οΈ Combat & Progression

  1. Rabbit Foot: Hunt aggressively for rabbit food on Night 1& 2, so that you can trade with Pelt Trader. After that, look for Wolf Pelt, Alpha Wolf Plet and Bear Pelt.
  2. Ruby Chest: If you are playing in a team, then attack the Cultist Stronghold early. So that you can get a high-tier weapon from the Ruby Chest.
  3. Class Perks: If you are playing in a team of four or more, then make sure one of the members equips the Lumberjack class. This allows him to build a wall faster and one Scavenger. So that you have extra space to gather items.

πŸ’Ž Secrets

  1. Free Diamonds: Check the 99 Nights in Forest Code pages regularly. You can get free diamonds and candies.
  2. Refer to the Map: The map will guide you towards cabins and chests.
  3. Prevent Starvation: Always keep a stew in your inventory before going into a bunker. Stew restores Hunger and Health significantly.
⚠️

DANGER: What if the Fire Dies?

If your fuel hits 0%, these penalties trigger instantly:

  • Safety Lost: The “Hungry Deer” spawns immediately (Aggressive).
  • Blackout: Your Map stops working. You cannot see icons.
  • No Healing: Health regeneration stops completely.
  • No Cooking: Raw meat cannot be cooked on the dead fire.
HOW TO FIX: You must manually drop fuel onto the dead fire to re-light it.
