Cultists are the most dangerous and important enemies in Roblox 99 Nights in the Forest. Compared to other hostile animals, Cultists are more organized, armed, and aggressive. They will frequently attack your campfire in an attempt to kill you and your friends, along with putting an end to the burning fire. So that even if you survive the raid, you become defenseless. They will actively attempt to destroy the campfire and the guards’ powerful loot zone across the maps.
In simple words Cultists are the military of the Deer. Understanding how they spawn, fight, and scale is essential for long-term survival.
π What are Cultists?
Cultists are human enemies who worship The Deer and operate in bases, ritual sites, and fortified structures throughout the forest. They are responsible for:
- Campfire raids
- Guarding high-tier loot
- Running Strongholds and Temples
- Controlling late-game progression
They grow stronger as nights pass. Additionally, their numbers increase with every raid, and an increasing number of them are equipped with weapons.
π Where Cultists Spawn
Cultists do not roam randomly; they appear in strategic locations. Here are some common world locations where you will encounter them. The following locations always have an armed cultist. One with a bow and arrow, there can be more than one. You can find valuable loot and high-risk rewards.

βοΈ Cultist Weapons & Damage
Below are the common cultist weapons they carry in raids. Each weapon has a damage rate. Upon impact, you will lose health, so you must know when to escape.
- Axe – 7.
- Spear – 15.
- Crossbow – 15.
- Morningstar – 30.
- Mega Cultist – Over 100.
Mega Cultist is the toughest one to deal with. You have to dodge its attack at all costs. Or else one hit is enough to throw you off the ground. Always use ranged weapons for stronger enemies.
β€οΈ Cultist Health Scaling
Culists’ health changes based on their attack. They will be weaker on the first raid, but will be more powerful on the third one. You must know how much their health scales up as time passes.
- Normal Raids: 100-150 HP
- Stronghold Level 1: 120 HP
- Stronghold Level 2: 180 HP
- Stronghold Level 3: 240 HP
- Stronghold Level 4: 300 HP
Later, one contains Elite Cultists. They are more powerful and annoying. In case you fall in the path of a strong cultist, try to run away. They will chase you and use environmental obstacles like trees to slow them down. And then attack from range. You can also climb up on trees or a tower; they won’t follow you there.
π§Types of Cultists
There are around eight different types of cultists in Roblox 99 Nights in the Forest. It is easy to identify them based on their appearance.
πͺ 1. Melee Cultists
This one is the most common in the game. Melee Cultists usually charge at the campfire and chase players to attack them from the nearest possible point. Melee Cultists use Old Axes, Spears, and Morningstars as weapons. They are slow and weak, but deadly in groups.
You can use a revolver or a rifle to kill them. Even a spear will work, but multiple attacks are required. Best is to have a revolver, two to three bullets, and they will be down. If you hit them on the head, they will die faster. They also have a very poor turning speed, which is why strafing is the best defense against them.
πΉ 2. Crossbow Cultists
Crossbow Cultists will appear after the second or third raid. There can be more than one Crossbow Cultist in a stronghold. He will snipe you from a distance, which is quiet an pain. Whenever you see a Crossbow Cultist, make sure to kill him first. This will help you to mitigate the risk of unnecessary health loss. Thanks to their slow projectile speed, you will have enough chance to dodge their attacks. Make sure you do not let them sit idle and chase other weaker ones. Always take cover behind a nearby tree or some object to avoid the arrow’s attack.
π‘οΈ 3. Jaggernaut Cultists
Jaggernaut Cultists wear metal helmets and use morningstars as their default weapons. They are not only well-equipped with weapons, but they also have high HP and high damage attacks. If in the raid there are Jaggernaut Cultists, then you have to fear them the most. Two to three hit and you will die. So never fight with them head-on. Instead, use a trap and attack with a ranged weapon. Place defenses near your campfire and traps so that they cannot move. And then attack them; if multiple team members can attack, he will die fast.
π 4. Cultist King
Cultist King does not participate in raids. They are mostly guarding the Volcanic Biome or their Cultist King Base. He is a boss-tier cultist with heavy protection. So here you have to first kill all his minions and then use a range weapon to attack from cover. It is best to fight from a height or behind walls. Do not expose yourself if you come near a stronghold, because there are many cultists with crossbows. And the weaker one will chase you, so it will become tough, best is to stay out of the range.
π΄ 5. Mega Cultist
Mega Cultist is a massive size cultists. It does not spawn in any region of the world. It is a part of the admin event. They are massive in size and spawn only during events. They have red skin and carry a massive morning star. Mega Cultist can cause 5x more damag ethan normal one. It is a team game; you cannot fight this cultist alone. You will need a Laser Cannon or a heavy weapon to kill this cultist.
Other than this, there are Event and cave-specific cultists. Like Trick or Treat Cultist, Shadow Cultist, and Brute Cultist. They do not appear randomly; you can find them in special biomes and events.
