Meteor Crabs are high-threat hostile entities that are tied to the meteor event in 99 Nights in the Forest. They are event-driven, highly aggressive, and designed to pressure players in chaotic encounters. Meteor Crabs often appear when players are already distracted or looting, making them especially deadly to unprepared survivors.
When you are playing the game, you will notice a meteor crash on the map. The crash leads to a different crater on the map. When you interact with the same, the crabs will pop out suddenly. This usually happens mid-late in the game. Crabs mostly remain hidden, but when you reach near the crate,r they become active. There can be more than one in the area.

How to fight Meteor Crabs?
When you approach a crater, do not go inside. Walk slowly, and the crabs will reveal themselves. You can then attack them from a distance. They will not chase you for a very long distance. They will return to the crater. Melee Combat is of high risk here. It is necessary to use ranged weapons, or else you will lose health fast.

It is necessary to have an exit route ready before engaging. Because if there is more than one crab, you will be surrounded. The uneven zones and lava can cause additional health damage. Teamwork is best here; one player can walk near the crater, causing the crabs to attack. Others can then deal with them from a distance. Always restore your health max before approaching the meteor sites. And if there are enemies around, deal with them first.
