The goal of the game is expand the campfire, explore, and rescue the kids. During these activities, you will be attacked by cultists, deer, a ram, and an owl. There are also many mini games in between. But here the major task is to do, no matter how you play. In a team or solo, these tasks are unavoidable. To summarize things faster checkout the short but quick day-wise schedule you can follow to survive 99 nights.

  • Days 1–5: Stay within 1 minute run of the Campfire.
  • Days 6–10: Explore the “Mid-Ring” (Towers/Sheds) for Scrap.
  • Days 11–20: Deep Woods. Look for “The Laboratory” or “Cave Systems”.
  • Post-Day 50: Do not explore at night. Only move during the day.

Day 50: Halfway Point

Day 66: The Darkness

  • Often cited as a “Pitch Black” night where flashlights are less effective. Stay strictly within Campfire range.

Day 99: The Final Stand

  • Do not leave the base. The spawn rate of enemies is tripled. Fuel the fire to 100%, repair all walls, and huddle in the center. Surviving until dawn awards the Survivor Badge.

Below is the day plan that focuses on the Early Game, which spans from Day 1 to Day 99 and includes a fixed event. Then there are Cyclical Events, which means these events repeat till Day 99. DAY 1 The First Night 🟢 Low

The Deer watches you from the trees but is passive. Only safe night to explore the dark without fear. Use this time to gather wood and explore.

Required Actions: Establish Base Camp
  • Upgrade Campfire (Clear Fog)
  • Craft a Map (3 Wood)
  • Locate Coal Rock
DAY 2 Pelt Trader Arrives 🟡 Med

The Pelt Trader spawns near your fire. He requires a Rabbit’s Foot for his first trade. If you miss him, he leaves at nightfall.

Required Actions: Hunt & Trade
  • Kill Bunnies for Rabbit’s Foot
  • Craft a Map (3 Wood)
  • Trade for Good Axe
  • Build 4x Log Walls
DAY 3 Random Event 🔴 High

The first RNG Event triggers tonight. Watch the sky. If it’s Aliens, hide. If Meteors, dodge. If Frogs, hunt them for poison.

Required Actions: Survive the Event
  • Get a Weapon (Spear/Axe)
  • Stockpile 10+ Fuel
  • If Frogs: Collect Poison Sacs
DAY 4 Cultist Scouts 🟡 Med

Small groups of Cultists begin probing defenses. They can jump over single walls, so ensure your perimeter is double-layered or guarded.

Required Actions: Fortify Defenses
  • Double-layer your Walls
  • Craft Bandages (3 Cloth)
  • Replant saplings around base
DAY 5 BOSS NIGHT 💀 Crit

The Safety Period ends. The Owl or The Ram will likely attack. If your fire goes out during the fight, the fog will kill you instantly.

Required Actions: Defend the Fire
  • Equip Flashlight (Stuns Owl)
  • Overstock Campfire to Max
  • Do NOT chase bosses into dark
DAY 6 Trader Returns 🟡 Med

The Pelt Trader returns (approx every 4 days). He now wants a Wolf Pelt. Prepare for tougher trades like the Flashlight or Revolver.

Required Actions: Hunt Wolves
  • Kill a Wolf (Kite it)
  • Craft a “Good Axe”
  • Craft a “Good Sack”
DAY 7 Resource Drought 🟡 Med

Trees near your base are likely gone. You must venture further to find resources. The “Anvil” building usually holds scrap.

Required Actions: Expand Territory
  • Locate “Anvil” Building on Map
  • Loot 10+ Scrap
  • Upgrade Bench to Tier 2
DAY 8 The Quiet Night 🟢 Low

A standard survival night. Use this downtime to organize chests and cook food. Do not get complacent; check your fuel reserves.

Required Actions: Stockpile Food
  • Build a Garden Plot
  • Cook “Meat Stew”
  • Organize Chests (Loot/Mats)
DAY 9 The Calm Before 🟡 Med

High-tier mobs (like Bear or Alpha Wolf) begin spawning in the woods. You need better armor before the Day 10 raid.

Required Actions: Gear Up
  • Craft Iron Armor (if possible)
  • Craft 20+ Arrows
  • Repair all Walls
DAY 10 The First Raid 🔴 High

A coordinated attack by Cultists or Entities. They will target your walls to break them. Defend the fire at all costs.

Required Actions: Hold the Line
  • Full Fuel (Max Bar)
  • Assign 1 Teammate to Repair
  • Survive until dawn

The Cycle – Recurring Events

For Day 11 onwards, the game enters a loop. Events like Cultist attacks, deer attacks, etc., etc., increase.

Every 3 Days 🔴 High

Another Random Event (Aliens/Meteors) is likely. Check the sky at dusk for UFO lights or falling stars.

A Boss Night is due. The Ram (Volcano Biome) or The Owl will attack. Ensure you have ammo and medical supplies.
